Okay, I understand Governor's Island but not Island of the Big Apple including Staten Island. The mayor pushed all this development and closed our firehouses and sold as many of them as he could.I was published in The New York Times saying the NYPD needed a raise and that was before they lowered the starting salary which was wrong and a mistake....
seems more mistakes are coming....
too bad we can't put a mega millionaires "tin cup" in front of city hall (and the White House for mega millionaire staff that live in NYC even if they don't claim the big apple as their home) so mega millionaire socialite city planner Amanda Burden, Dan Doctoroff when he visits to say hi, the mayor and any other mega millionaires that work in city government etc can make donations -- mega bucks donations....
Can you imagine, Robert Rubin, heading to the White house salary, his 3 years at Citi Bank could re open all the firehouses and keep workers employed and feed all the homeless in several of the 50 states...
Same for so many mega bucks players in NYC and federal government that make NYC their home base. I don't know if they claim NYC as their home but mega bucks from all industries that party here and have the biggest homes here could pony up.
The mega millionaires that have survived this economic meltdown are also experts at being invisible and leave it to the middle and lower income to be ticketed and taxed to death in every possible as they fly in sea planes and helicopters in the sky. The NYPD is not going to pull over a sea plane to the Hamptons or a helicopter where ever the hell mega rich helicopter to, no toll booths in the sky but the average Joe will gets ticketed, one of the billionaire's favorite ways to make money for the city's mega massive economic melt down.
