YO, THIS STORY IS A REMINDER DONATE BLOOD!!!!!! I am just too tired to donate right now. Just like NYC's budgetary crisis same for blood donations, there is always a shortage -- the city needs your blood. Donate if you can!
President of the Transport Workers Union, Roger Toussanint, should have gone to jail for pushing the people he represents to strike and worse the great harm he did to the people, especially the poorest people here and the sickest who require home aid, etc. too tired to elaborate the many ways he hurt the people of NYC but Matthew Long in my opinion was a casualty of Toussanint's criminal decision in the most horrific way.
So when bad unfair life threatening things happen this fireman's response was proactive, as usual...bigger more horrible response bigger more magnificent achievement, what a superstar Olympic soul Matthew Long is and today is just one example of the strength of his spirit.
Too tired and too cranky to go in to it, write anymore on "it" the it that takes you to "the wall " that wall you might hit when you run the 26.2 or worse the wall you hit in your soul and mind when something devastating happens that you just can't wrap your mind around that can bring you down tumbling in the black hole, and it is all part of the "negative toxic waste dump of bad energy" beste avoid even thinking on the negative events just like the negative people, cross the street to avoid them, tell your mind to think on something positive, hit the wall when running a marathon just focus on the next step not how much farther you have to run. Focus on everything good and positive, tune out all the toxic negative stuff which I find hard to do.
Matthew Long, just being a live today is clearly proof miracles do happen. Matthew, I am sure worked very hard beyond what I could imagine to contribute heart and soul to his miracles including just being alive.
Wish I was running with you... The NYC marathon is an amazing experience and the most diverse group of people, all ages and backgrounds come out to cheer you...You are cheered more than anyone on the planet for the duration of the run and in the most magical and mad city in the world!!!!!!
