Hunter Thompson's book, Thomas Wolfe's inspiration (although it was pretty terrible-as seen in the documentary on Thompson narrated by Johnny Depp), Jack Nicholson's movie -- the one he made before "Easyrider", the list goes on and on -- the arts, literature and fashion inspired by this infamous group and here on the Lower East Side the latest is this advertisement pushing a health drink...One of my favorite songs from the Broadway show "Hair" Frank Mills which is a funny love song clearly about NYC and it's characters. This funny young woman is in love with Frank Mills who wears a white crash helmet, gold chains on his leather jacket on the back it says, Mary, Mom and Hell's Angels.
The Hell's Angels are infamous but also iconic, globally.
